The 10 th International Mechanical Engineering Conference (IMEC-2020-21) jointly organized by the
Institution of Engineers Pakistan, Karachi Centre, NED University of Engineering and Technology,

was held on Friday the 12 th February, 2021 at Video Conferencing Hall, Department of Civil Engineering,
NED University of Engineering and Technology,in collaboration with Federation of Engineering
Institutions of South and Central Asia (FEISCA), Federation of Engineering Institutions of Islamic
Countries (FEIIC), Balochistn University of Engineering and Technology, Balochistan University of
Information Technology, Engineering & Management Sciences (BUITEMS),Dawood University of
Engineering and Technology, DHA SUFFA University, Hamdard University, Quaid-e-Awam University of
Engineering Sciences, and Technology, Pakistan Navy Engineering College -NUST, Karachi, Pakistan

The theme of the 10th International Mechanical Engineering Conference was "Green Practices in Mechanical Engineering".
Inaugural Session
Friday the 12th February, 2021
The Inaugural Session of the Conference started with recitation of the Holy Quran by Engr. Hassan Liaquat followed by National Anthem.
The Inaugural Session was conducted by Engr. Bushra Fatima Faculty Member, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi.
Engr. Nadeem Rasul, Managing Director, Pakistan Machine Tool Factory, Karachi was the Chief Guest at the Inaugural Session.
Engr. Prof. Dr. Mubashir Ali Siddiqui, Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NED University of Engineering and Technology and Co-Convener,10th International Mechanical Engineering Conference briefly presented about the Conference.
Engr. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Pro Vice-Chancellor, NED University of Engineering and Technology presented his address.
Engr. Sohail Bashir, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre presented his address.
The following distinguished Invited Talk Speakers presented their papers in the inaugural session online:

Engr. Sohail Bashir, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre, and Engr. M. Farooq Arbi, Secretary, IEP Karachi Centre presented the Conference shield to the Chief Guest.

The Inaugural Session came to an end followed by Hi-Tea.

The Closing session started from recitation of Holy Quran by Engr. Shaukat Ali and was conducted by Engr. Ifrah Asif and Engr. Dr. Muhammad Uzair, Secretary, 10th IMEC-2020-21.
Engr. Asim Murtaza Khan, President, NED International Alumni Network Association and CEO Petroleum Institute of Pakistan was the Chief Guest at the Closing Session.
The Conference highlights was presented by Engr. Prof. Dr. Syed Amir Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, NED University of Engineering and Technology.
Engr. Sohail Bashir, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre delivered his address and appreciated the efforts of Engr. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Pro Vice-Chancellor, NED University of Engineering and Technology and Convener 10th IMEC-2020-2021, Engr. Prof. Dr. Mubashir Ali Siddiqui, Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NED University of Engineering and Technology and Co-Convener, 10th IMEC 2020-2021, and Engr. Dr. Muhammad Uzair, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NED University of Engineering and Technology and Secretary, 10th IMEC 2020-2021 for making the arrangements of 10th IMEC 2020-21, a success.
Engr. Prof. Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, Vice-Chancellor, NED University of Engineering and Technology, also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the efforts made for this conference.
The Conference recommendations were presented by Engr. Dr. Muhammad Uzair, Secretary, 10th IMEC-2020-21
IEP Karachi Centre awarded “Chairman IEP Karachi Centre Medal” to the best paper of the Conference.
Selection Committee comprising of session chairs decided the best paper of the Conference, there was a tie between two presenters, the Selection Committee decided the best paper award will be awarded to the presenters of both the papers.
The best paper award was given to Engr. Asad A. Naqvi from NED University on presenting his paper on “TECHNO-ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF A HYBRID PHOTOVOLTAIC-THERMAL (PV/T) AIR COLLECTOR “ and the other paper presented by Engr. Muzammil Ejaz from NED University on “DEVELOPMENT OF A HIGH EFFICIENT RESIDENTIAL WATER-COOLED AIR CONDITIONER”
Engr. Ayaz Mirza, Vice-President,(Mechanical and Allied ), IEP presented the vote of thank at the closing session.
