Half Day Workshop on Entrepreneuring for Engineers
Saturday the 23rd September, 2017

The Institution of Engineers Pakistan, Karachi Centre has arranged a Workshop on “Entrepreneuring for Engineers” in collaboration with Pakistan Engineering Council on Saturday the 23rd September, 2017 from 03:00 pm to 6:00 pm in IEP Convention Center, 5th Floor, IEP Building, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Opposite: Hotel Regent Plaza, Karachi.

Following papers were presented:

The Workshop started from recitation of Holy Quran by Engr. Abdul Rahim, followed by National Anthem and conducted by Engr. Jilani Yousuf, MIE(Pak) Vice-Chairman (Mechanical), IEP Karachi Centre.

Engr. Prof. Dr. S.F.A. Rafeeqi, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre presented his welcome address

The Workshop was conducted by Mr. Azhar Rizvi who is currently working as the CEO and Director of Cambridge Advisors Network. He also serves as Chairman Standing Committee on Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Federation of Pakistan, Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI). He is also Founding Chairman of Pakathon Global and Women’s Digital League. Azhar has also played a key role in developing the entrepreneurship ecosystem of Pakistan,founding Vice Chairman of MIT Enterprise Forum of Pakistan and Founding Director at OPEN in Pakistan.

Following papers were also presented:

“Role of SMEDA for Development of Entrepreneurship”
by Mr. Mukesh Kumar. Regional Chief SMEDA(Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority), he holds an Master of Science (MS), Management Sciences from Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Sciences and Technology and MBA Marketing and Management form IBA, Karachi.

“Govt’s Incentives to Promote SME,s”
by Mr. Imran Ahmed, Additional Director, Infrastructure and Housing Finance Division, State Bank of Pakistan.

The success Stories of the following renowned Entrepreneurs Engineers were also shared which were appreciated by the participants:

Ø Engr. Al Kazim Mansoor, Chief Executive, Soilmat Engineers and Member Central Council, IEP Ø Engr. Nisar Ahmed Khan, CEO, Fluid Technologies (Pvt) Limited

Mr. Syed Abdullah, Manager Webwayout and Ms. Afshan Samad presented a joint presentation on their online Laundry Services.

Engr. Ayaz Mirza, Secretary, IEP Karachi Centre presented the vote of thanks to the Authors and the Audience.

Engr. Prof. Dr. S.F.A. Rafeeqi, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre, accompanied with Engr. Ayaz Mirza, Secretary and Engr. Jilani Yousuf, presented the Workshop shield and certificate to the Authors.
