The Institution of Engineers Pakistan, Karachi Centre is organizing a Webinar on "Immersive Visualization for Engineering and Sciences-Concepts and Applications" on Saturday the 18th December, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm (Zoom & Physically) at IEP Council Hall, 4th Floor IEP Building, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Opposite Hotel Regent Plaza, Karachi.

Presenter Profile
Dr. Farrukh Arif, Associate Professor, and Director, NED University Virtual Reality Center at NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan. Dr. Farrukh's areas of research interests include; automation, infrastructure management, Risk Analysis and Management, Virtual Reality, Augmented reality, Building Information Modeling, legal affairs and dispute resolution in construction, intelligent transportation systems, construction cost analysis, heavy construction. Dr. Arif has more than 50 international publications including journal papers conference proceedings publications, edited proceedings, and funded research project reports. His current research works are focused on technology adoption in engineering such as; smart construction progress monitoring, virtual and augmented reality. Dr. Arif is currently working on different R&D projects worth around Rs. 60 million PKR as PI/Co-PI. He has also been honored with 11 honors and awards nationally and internationally by HEC, IEP, ASCE, AACE FIU etc. In the area of immersive visualization, his works include but are not limited to; use of immersive visualization for infrastructure management decision-making and capacity building, immersive visualization for project cost control, virtual reality controlled humanoid environment, car driving simulator VR application for crash simulation, patient simulator etc. Dr. Farrukh Arif is an Associate Professor and also the Director of NED University Virtual Reality Center.
