The Institution of Engineers Pakistan, Karachi Centre had organized a Seminar on “Practical Design of Post- Tensioned Buildings”, on Saturday the 29th December, 2018 at IEP Convention Center, In collaboration with NED University of Engineering & Technology and Association of Consulting Engineers Pakistan.

The Seminar started from recitation of Holy Quran and followed by National Anthem.

The Seminar was conducted by Engr. Khawaja Nizamuddin S.E., P.E., Project Manager with RME Engineers in Chicago. Mr. Nizamuddin received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from NED University in 1983. He was then awarded the AGA Khan scholarship to pursue the MS degree in Structural Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He also has an MS in Transportation degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MBA from DePaul University, Chicago. He is a Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) and a Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois. Mr. Nizamuddin has more than 30 years of diversified experience in building design. His project portfolio includes high rise buildings, commercial and office buildings, industrial buildings, gymnasiums, parking garages, schools, hospitals and environmental engineering structures. Over the years, he has been involved in the design, detailing and field inspections of more than a dozen post-tensioned buildings.

Engr. Sohail Bashir, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre presented the welcome address.

Engr. Arif Kassam, President, ACEP also spoke on the occasion.

Engr. Sohail Bashir, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre, accompanied with Engr. M. Farooq Arbi, Secretary, IEP Karachi Centre, Engr. Farooq Razzak Fazal, Member Local Council, IEP Karachi Centre presented the seminar shield and certificate to the Author.
