Half Day Consultative Workshop on “Defining Roles of Stakeholders in
Delivering Road Safety” on Saturday the 21 February, 2015
The Institution of Engineers Pakistan, Karachi Centre has arranged Consultative Workshop on “Defining Roles of Stakeholders in Delivering Road Safety” on Saturday the 21 February, 2015 at 10:00 am in collaboration with Sindh Component of Pakistan Sustainable Transport (PAKISTAN) project, funded by United Nations Development Program (UNDP) at IEP Convention Center.
The Seminar started from recitation of Holy Quran by Engr. Iqbal Ahmed Khan. Engr. Farhat Adil, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre presented the introduction of IEP. Mr. Fazal Karim Khatri, Component Director CIU-Sindh, presented the welcome address and Engr.Ayaz Mirza, Secretary IEP Karachi Centre presented the vote of thanks.
The objectives of the workshop included familiarization of the transportation stakeholders with the aims and objectives of PAKISTAN, in general, and the principle guidelines to be prepared. Another important part of this workshop was the discussion and feedback from the stakeholders on these guidelines. This workshop was attended by officials from local transport authorities, transport service providers, academicians and researchers of this area, practicing engineers and other road users. The stakeholders were briefed about PAKISTAN project by Dr. Saleem Janjua (National Project Manager; PAKISTAN). A panel discussion session was also held and the following participated.

The issues raised in this session by the participants were noted down and will be included in the updated version.
