5th NATIONAL SEMINAR ON
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
7TH & 8TH SEPTEMBER, 2007
(IEP HALL, 5TH FLOOR, IEP BUILDING KARACHI)

The 5th National Seminar on Occupational Health, Safety & Environment was held on 7th & 8th September, 2007 at Karachi. Mr. M. Abad Khan, Advisor, Fatima Group of Industries was the Chief Guest at the Inaugural Session. Engr. Dr. Mir Mohammad Ali was the Guest of Honour at the Inaugural Session.

The Seminar started from recitation of Holy Quran by Engr. Anwar ul Haq Siddiqui. Engr.Zaffar A. Zuberi, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre presented the welcome address. The Introduction of the Seminar was presented by Engr. Anwarul Haq Siddiqui, Engr. Sohail Bahsir Facilitator conducted the Inaugural and Closing Ceremonies and presented the vote of thanks in the Inaugural Session.

A Technical Paper on “Preliminary Studies to assess the Health Status of Workers of Iron and Steel Industries Located in Lahore” by Mrs. Husna Malik, Assistant Professor, Lahore College for Women University, Lahore was presented in the Inaugural Session.

Engr. Zaffar A. Zuberi, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre presented the IEP Shields to the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour.

A Seminar shield and a certificate was presented to each author by the Session Chairman whereas the Chairman IEP Karachi Centre presented shield to Session Chairman at the end of each session.

A closing ceremony of the Seminar was also held in the evening of 8th September, 2007. Mr. Asim Murtaza Khan, Deputy Managing Director, Pakistan Petroleum Ltd., was the Chief Guest. In the end, participation certificates were presented to all registered participants.
