4th NATIONAL SEMINAR ON
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
14TH – 15TH NOVEMBER,2005
(IEP HALL, 5TH FLOOR, IEP BUILDING KARACHI)

The 4th National Seminar on Occupational Health, Safety & Environment was held on 14th & 15th November,2005 at Karachi. Mr.Muhammad Noman Saigal, Advisor to the Chief Minister for Environment, Alternate Energy and Information Technology, Government of Sindh, was the Chief Guest at the Inaugural Session. Engr.Abul Kalam, Vice Chancellor, NED University of Engineering and Technology was the Guest of Honour at the Inaugural Session.

The Seminar started from recitation of Holy Quran by Engr.Muhammad Sameeh Shafi. Engr.Zaffar A. Zuberi, Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre presented the welcome address. Keynote Address was presented by Engr.Anwarul Haq Siddiqui, Coordinator, Engr.Ayaz Mirza, Secretary, IEP Karachi Centre presented the vote of thanks. Engr. Sohail Bahsir, Facilitator conducted the Inaugural and Closing Ceremonies.

The Seminar was spread over Six Technical Sessions and chaired by the following:

1st TECHNICAL SESSION

3RD TECHNICAL SESSION

5TH TECHNICAL SESSION

6TH TECHNICAL SESSION
Engr.Z.A.Nizami, Chancellor, Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology,

A shield of IEP and a certificate was presented to each author by the Session Chairman whereas the Chairman IEP Karachi Centre presented shield to Session Chairman at the end of each session.

140 delegates were registered from various organizations.

25 papers were presented in the Seminar.

A proceeding were published at this occasion. Messages from the following dignitaries were received on this occasion and published in the souvenir.

The Chairman IEP Karachi Centre give a dinner to the foreign delegate from Bahrain on 14-11-2005 at Sindh Club. Engr. Ayaz Mirza Secretary IEP Karachi Centre give a dinner in the honour of Authors and Session Chairman on 15-11-2005 at Muslim Gymkhana.

In the end Engr.M.Abdullah Farooqui, Member Organizing Committee gave the recommendations of the Seminar, which will be forward to relevant quarters by the Chairman/Secretary.

A closing ceremony of the Seminar was held on the evening of 15th Novembner, 2005. Mrs.Farheena Anbreen, Member, Provincial Assembly, Government of Sindh, was the Chief Guest at the Closing Session of the Seminar. In the end, the certificates were presented to all registered participants.
